This is the typical West End club... A staff of employee's that never went to Uni and will probubly work in a bar for the rest of their lives, prices that really are totally unrealistic and only are good for providing an ego trip, a crowd consisting of people with too much money or people who with no where near enough to be there and of course a large foreign group of kids from Uni that dont speak english or have a pronouncable name. Finally, the DJ will play the same 10 tracks you hear anywhere else in the West End. People need to realise that this is London - so many good things to do here rather then being lost soul in a club like this.

I used to love this place, even though it was packed full of pretentious celebutards and moronic half-wits with no more ambition in life than to get shagged by a footballer. But that's what you get in these allegedly exclusive places - just part of the deal.I didn't even mind being charged an arm and a leg for distinctly average cocktails, served by pretentious bar staff with about as much personality as a frozen yoghurt. Again, par for the course. And yes, getting a table is impossible if you're there on your own, but the point of these places is to go in a group - and when the expense is shared, it's hardly bank-breaking (unless, of course, you're a skint pikey who's expecting other people to pay for your drinks)What I simply cannot and will not abide (and the reason I will never be returning) is that the management of the place apparently paid Paris Hilton £25,000 to turn up and pose witlessly for half an hour or so. 25 grand, for that vacuous tart to pitch up and point her chihuahua at people! What in God's name were they thinking?

Having spent the last half hour reading all 67 reviews of Movida, I can't help but laugh. As a regular for the past 2 years, every review that has slagged the club off smacks of sour grapes. So you didn't get treated like one of the "VIPs" you seem to have spent all night watching? Get over yourselves!I have never been to venue on a Saturday night that wasn't packed. People jostle - get over it. And yes, it is expensive, that's the idea. If you can't afford it don't go; and if you do go, don't moan about it. If you can't afford a table, then you can't sit down. This is standard in the West End & well-known, so if you don't like the policy, again don't go. All bouncers are rude, it's their job to expect trouble and deal with it if it arises - again standard in all venues. So for those of you who didn't enjoy it, it's your own fault so stop bellyaching and please please never come back. I'm not wealthy but have had the best times of my life in Movida. It's all about the company you keep (try having fun with your friends instead of moaning about what people whom you've never met are wearing?) & playing the game. In this type of club it is a game and it is fun if you stop spending all night judging other people.

I must say I 100% agree, in all exclusive members only west end clubs the following applies:

1 - they are notoriously difficult to get into which is why everyone wants to go there in the first place, to see if they are 'special' enough to get past the doormen.
2 - they are very expensive in comparison to places such as Tiger Tiger or roadhouse, but again this is to encourage a wealthy crowd and is why they can afford to put on themed nights and have extravogant decor etc
3 - if you cant afford to hire a table for the night then dont complain when someone who has paid for one moves you off when they arrive! This is again standard in exclusive west end venues
4 - so what if a lot of the clientelle are gold diggers, fake or glamour models, people who are willing to spend silly amounts of money will always attract this sort of person, wherever you happen to be.
5 - dont slag off 'Z-list' celebrities when you dont even know them. I have a couple of very good soap actor friends who simply want a night out without being harrassed which is why they go to these places. Do they slag off your career choices??

The final word - if you are prepared to spend money at Movida, they will treat you very well - the staff are the most friendliest staff i have encountered in the west end, willing to have a laugh and a joke but remaining very professional.

Best club in London by far! - Report

It's just not about movida anymore!!! It use to be the most amazing club but now it's gone down, especially the crowd!! The bouncers at the door have always had such an attitude, and even with being a member I realised after a year it wasn't worth it! I had my fun but there's so many better clubs out there like maddox, dolce and Annabels ofcourse! Don't believe the hype anymore!

disgustingly rude bar staff - full of girls that can't speak english hanging around guys who stand around their one bottle of champange the whole night.

I spilt my drink by accident at the bar and the bar man looked at me like I had just murdered someone - won't be going to this place again.

Manners cost nothing!

I actually couldn't believe how rude the bar staff were here- and its full of wags hanging around d*** heads who they think have money - who stand round a bottle of champagne in a bucket all night pretending they are rich - bearing in mind the girls are just after guys with money - music was great then they had this shit r & b hour which made me just want to leave. I spilt my drink at the bar as it was wet under the glass and the bar man looked at me like i was sh*t - they are bar men no better than anyone else - I wont be going back there

If I could give this no stars I would.. I love going out in the west End but this is the last club I ever think of going. The place is completly over rated and is very far removed from the classy image it is meant to have
